The Thesis Word Press Theme has been created with smart SEO optimization and sophisticated design functionalities. When you start a business blog, that is what you need.
Much of the online journey starts with a strong idea which can mute rapidly into mush and then slowly, infinitesimally, develops into innate knowledge.
INTERNET LEARNING
Incremental pixels of knowledge that build byte by byte with a meteoric effect.
There was an inevitability about the my decision to blog, although as a concept it infiltrated rather than just announcing itself one day – “I’m here, you must do me”.
When I think back, perhaps it was a site called ‘I believe in Love’ by the co-founder, Jen Price, of a remarkable charity in South Africa called Ten Thousand Homes. The combination of personal information, stories of the orphans they look after, recipes and children’s photographs was really compelling. At the time, I didn’t even realise it was dynamic. In fact, on revisiting the site a week or so later I was puzzled that the ‘home page’ didn’t look at all as I had remembered it!
This was not a long time ago. And that is another thing about online learning. While it seeps into your brain in little incremental pixels of knowledge, byte by byte, in life terms what you absorb and how you are able to apply it, is meteoric.
Not that it has been an uneventful journey. Nothing ever is that is worth learning. In fact the start of the process was just horrible. Being used to traditional bricks and mortar websites, initially the dashboard of a WordPress blog was daunting.
What was this love affair between internet marketers’ and WordPress all about? Php and css, no hand-holding or step by step action guides, just a fuzz of widgets and plug-ins. Well, it is about SEO optimization. The search engines love WordPress.
So why the Thesis WordPress Theme
It is always exciting when you find someone on the net who has their heart in the right place. Chris Pearson the developer of Thesis, seemed to me to be just such a person. Added to that is that Thesis is widely regarded in the internet marketing world as one of the premier SEO-optimized themes for WordPress.
Design
Thesis has also been beautifully constructed in terms of typography. Chris Pearson is a person after my own heart in this regards. As an ex-graphic designer, I know how much difference well placed and sized type can make to visual comprehension of a page. It also makes a difference to the search engines spiders as they index your pages.
At last, here was someone who had constructed a framework that understood typography for both humans and bots. Previously this could only be done by a web designer spending hours coding.
The design controls are so simple. You can choose, with ease, two or three columns, their size and positioning, fonts, colours and sizes with just a few clicks of the mouse. Uploading a banner is as simple as browsing your desktop and clicking upload. No more messy FTP.
The navigation menu is very versatile in terms of background rollover colours, link colours and borders. With just a smidgen of flair, you can make a Thesis site look stunning.
There is also a plug in called Thesis Open Hook which allows a range of flexible design options. These could only been done previously by php or css coding. For those of us not inclined to that language, this is a huge bonus.
There are endless SEO options, which may daunt non technical folk. However, the combined SEO features of this theme, together with correctly optimized content will take your blog pages a long way down the ranking track.
If you are considering a WordPress option, and you want to start ahead in SEO, with a good looking site, then its worth reviewing Thesis. Also, when purchasing the Thesis theme, you have access to the DIY Themes forum which is full of switched on folk, who have always answers queries quickly and are keen to support you.
We use the Thesis WordPress theme on all our sites and for our website packages, Connect, Relate and Transform and highly recommend it.
